The mission of the Columbus Black History Museum and Archives is to educate, preserve, and create a heart-felt interest for "Black History in Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding area".


The Columbus Black History Museum and Archives will become the nations first place of choice for researching, collecting, perserving, and educating "Black History of Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding areas".

$5.00 donation per person
Our Education and Preservation Services includes all listed below:
Historical exhibits of Black Interest dating from 4,000 B.C. Large archive of rare books, obituaries, photo images, and documents of historical Black interest; several hundred Jet and Ebony Magazines beginning from the 1960's, and several Black interest magazines beginning date from the 1950's
Tour of local historical landmarks Over 1,500 Black American obituaries
Assistance with Black history projects Assistance with genealogy projects
Local Counties Slave Registers Local High Schools yearbooks
Collection of authentic African, Black American, and Indian Artifacts and books MUCH, MUCH MORE!!!
